Translating it yourself
You write every translation, sentence by sentence. That's what our free plugin, “REDORZO – Multilingual Translation & SEO”, lets you do, from the WordPress plugin directory.
- What it costs: nothing but your time.
- What you get: one version of your site per language, with its URLs, its tags for Google, its sitemap and a language switcher. Your pages show exactly what you wrote; the text from WordPress and your theme comes from their official translations.
- Who it's for: a small site, one or two languages you know well, not much new content.
The limit is time. A 10,000-word site means several days' work per language, then every new page to translate by hand.
Having it translated
The plugin translates everything, then each new piece of content as soon as you publish it. What's already translated is never sent again. You correct whatever you like.
- What it costs: with TOP TRANSLATE, a monthly subscription that follows the size of the site. For a 10,000-word site, the Essential plan, at €9 excl. VAT per month for one language, and €3 excl. VAT per extra language.
- What you get: the same on Google's side (one page per language, its URLs, its tags), without spending your days on it.
- Who it's for: a site that's alive, several languages, or languages you don't speak.
Prices excluding VAT; VAT currently not applicable (article 293 B of the French General Tax Code).
Both together
You can start on your own with the free plugin, then move to TOP TRANSLATE. What you wrote by hand is taken over as it is, and will never be retranslated.
If you stop your subscription, translated pages are no longer served: each translated URL leads to its original page. Your translations stay saved in your site.
